There were seven properties on this year’s tour. The photos shown here were all taken at the same property, 393 Blue Flag Circle, Breckenridge. The 80-year old gardener, Jane Hendrix gets a lot of help from friends and neighbors. Her garden is frequently acclaimed by both national and international garden and home publications.
"I’ve entrusted my bike with the mission of notifying me of my aging. It’s doing nicely.”

A Walk in the Woods
Yesterday, I cycled up Vail Pass. At the top, my altimeter read 9,950. So I rode another 50 feet up and was at 10,000 feet.
Today we went on a hike with senior citizens. Elaine said it was an easy hike. But at the trail-head all I could see was mountains. The sign revealed that the hike was 2.5 miles and 1,200 feet of elevation. That meant that the top would be about 10,000 feet. But the hike was much steeper than the bike ride. ‘Just hope my legs are not too sore to ride tomorrow.

The Fourth in Frisco
Frisco, Colorado goes “all out” on the fourth. Main street is totally shut down. The day begins with a pancake breakfast. It seems as if the whole town is there. The sausage is “unique” – it has the consistency as steak – but is very good.
There is a parade, children’s bike ride and three free concerts. The fireworks display over Lake Dillon has been cancelled because of fire hazards.
But everyone stays downtown for the food and frivolities. Cloud cover makes the 72 degree temperature pleasant.
We, along with friends Lou and Elaine Stephens go for a hike to Shriners Pass. We must have been at least 11,000 elevation.
Like every place else in the US, Colorado has experienced an early and warm spring. So the expected snow and wildflowers (see above) are scarce.
